A light brown hand knit swatch with knit stitches and yarn over stitches to create vertical alternating rows of lace and solid lines.

Cast on a multiple of 5 stitches, plus 2.

Row 1 (WS): Purl.

Row 2 (RS): K1, *ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last st, k1.

Row 3: P3, *sl1, yo, p4; repeat from * to the last 4 sts, sl1, yo, p3.

Row 4: K1, *ssk, yo, k the next st together with the yo from the last row, yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last st, k1.

Repeat rows 3-4 for desired length.
