Cast on a multiple of 12 stitches, plus 1.

Row 1 (WS): Purl.

Row 2 (RS): Ssk, *k4, yo, k1 yo, k4, sl the next 2 sts together kwise, k1, pass the 2 slipped sts over the st that was just knit and off the needle to decrease 2 sts; repeat from * to the last 11 sts, k4, yo, k1, yo, k4, k2tog.

Row 3: Purl.

Row 4-11: Repeat rows 2-3, four more times.

Rows 12-13: Purl.
