Diagonal Garter Twill

A handknit fabric that has diagonal lines moving from the bottom right to the top left. The lines are made with 2 stitches of stockinette stitch and 4 stitches of garter stitch alternating positions.

Cast on a multiple of 6 stitches.

Row 1 (RS): Knit.

Row 2 (WS): *Knit 4, purl 2; repeat from * to end.

Row 3: Knit.

Row 4: Knit 3, *purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 5: Knit.

Row 6: Knit 2, *purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, knit 2.

Row 7: Knit.

Row 8: Knit 1, *purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, knit 3.

Row 9: Knit.

Row 10: *Purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to end.

Row 11: Knit.

Row 12: Purl 1, knit 4, *purl 2, knit 4; repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Repeat rows 1-12 for desired length.
