Lace Basketweave

A handknit fabric that looks like a basketweave made out of knit and purl stitches that appear to move over and under each other link a woven fabric.

Cast on a multiple of 10 stitches, plus 3.

Row 1 (RS): *Knit 3, purl 7; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, knit 3.

Row 2 (WS): *Purl 3, knit 7; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, purl 3.

Rows 3-4: Repeat rows 1-2.

Row 5: Knit 2, *ssk, yarn over, knit 5, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1; repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 6: Purl.

Row 7: Purl 5, *knit 3, purl 7; repeat from * to last 8 stitches, knit 3, purl 5.

Row 8: Knit 5, *purl 3, knit 7; repeat from * to last 8 stitches, purl 3, knit 5.

Rows 9-10: Repeat rows 7-8.

Row 11: Purl 4, *yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, ssk, yarn over, knit 5; repeat from * to last 9 stitches, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, ssk, yarn over, knit 4.

Row 12: Purl.

Repeat rows 1-12 for desired length.
