A tan hand knit swatch that is mostly stockinette stitch, with 4x4 stitch purl squares placed in an evenly spaced pattern all over.

Cast on a multiple of 4 stitches.

Row 1 (WS): Purl.

Row 2 (RS): Knit.

Row 3: *Purl 2, knit 2; repeat from * to end.

Row 4: *Purl 2, knit 2; repeat from * to end.

Row 5: Purl.

Row 6: Knit.

Row 7: *Knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to end.

Row 8: *Knit 2, purl 2; repeat from * to end.

Repeat rows 1-8 for desired length.
